One Foggy NightI remember my first ritual clearly. In fact, I wrote about it soon after it happened. My First Goddess Experience It was a night I will never forget, and I just wanted to share the story right away. Not really sure if anyone has ever read it, but you can follow my original story from here, if you are interested. That night, I performed a full moon ritual, and a full moon meditation. I had adapted both to fit my thoughts and beliefs. The ritual itself I didn't change much. I do remember I changed the calling of the corners, and has since kept my modification. I chose that particular ritual because it was the only one I could find that felt right. I think I had read over many rituals prior to that first night, online and in books, and it was the one closest to how I felt and what I was comfortable saying and doing. So, I did it. And it was beautiful. The ritual included a meditation, where I "conversed" with the Goddess asking for guidance and understanding. The results of that night and of the ritual were a calming, I have found myself type feeling. Honestly, I don't think I have completely achieved it since, but then, it was such an exceptional experience, I'm not sure it could ever be duplicated. Perhaps it was such an experience to acknowledge that I had come home and was doing what I was meant to do and believing how I was meant to believe. I'm not sure that makes sense. But that is how I feel about it. I'm not sure how to explain effective rituals. Rituals that are effective to me are those that leave me feeling content, happy and fulfilled. THOSE are the rituals that are right for me. That I am most comfortable performing. Anything else has a quality of non-reality. Of doing something that just isn't quite right. I remember a ritual I performed on the night prior to my job interview . I had written about it on 31 May 2001 and once again, I adapted the ritual to what I needed and felt comfortable with. I did not ask for anything, except to lose all negativity and to gain confidence and the ability to thrive during the interview. As for rituals, I feel the best is to combine a previously written one and make it your own. That is what works best for me, and I doubt that that will ever change now. It has become habit and successful for me and for what I need to accomplish. I guess someday I may expand to other types of spells and rituals but right now, I am content with what I use and how I use it.
*giggle* That isn't what my belief in the Goddess is all about. I will do as my senses and feelings lead me and always try to be open to "changes". :) Blessed Be!
