Let’s see, after running searches on the net, the quote,

"English doesn't borrow from other languages - English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar. " (author unknown)
seems to have no one claiming it.

An associate professor of English and
Director of the Honors Program
Northern State University

uses the quote, but mentions that the author is unknown.
This can be found at:
Lysbeth Em Benkert Homepage

This quote has even been used by other people in the SCA who also have not found the author, as you can see at

[SCA-Cooks]

But, at any rate, I could not find anyone or any place that gave this quote an author.

In fact, before seeing it on here, I had not heard it before, which leads me to believe that it may be a rather young quote. OR it just became popular because of the internet. Who knows.
And he’s not telling!!

;)

Blessed Be!
