My Son

My Son

My heart swells
knowing that
this child,
this tiny human
is something
of me
of mine.

A miracle,
large yet in such a
tiny package.

My love is so deep,
so strong,
the depths reach further than
my toes,
deep into Mother Earth.

My love rises so high,
a height so astounding
it reaches further than the
farthest star -
a whole new universe of love.

How can something so small
produce feelings so huge?

My body trembles
with love,
tears brim in
my eyes,
my heart explodes
with the power.

This tiny bundle,
this child,
this part
of me
of mine.

How deep is my love for you, my son?
Deeper than forever.
